Announcing the Wolfram Investment Calculator and Gaming Odds Reference Apps
We are happy to announce that we released two new entries into our line of Wolfram|Alpha-powered iOS apps: the Wolfram Investment Calculator Reference App and the Wolfram Gaming Odds Reference App. The Wolfram Investment Calculator Reference App was built specifically to help users get the most from their investments, and the Wolfram Gaming Odds Reference App provides the probabilities and odds of winning many popular card and lottery games.
We designed the Wolfram Investment Calculator Reference App to aid with simple and advanced investment calculations for both finance professionals and everyday consumers. The investment calculator can be used to compute ending values, accumulation periods, and ongoing yearly investments. The app can also perform bond calculations using the clean or dirty prices to determine price, yield to maturity, and redemption value; research stocks and mutual funds by company name or stock ticker; solve complex hedging calculations; and more!
If you’d rather invest your money in a game of blackjack instead of the stock market, then the Wolfram Gaming Odds Reference App is just what you need. The app makes it easy to explore probabilities general to all card games, such as drawing a given hand from a standard deck or calculating the probability of busting a given blackjack hand. It can also compute the odds of winning US state and international lottery games, such as Mega Millions, Keno, Powerball, and more.
Both the Wolfram Investment Calculator Reference App and the Wolfram Gaming Odds Reference App can be found in the iTunes App Store for $1.99. More information about these and our other Wolfram|Alpha-powered apps can be found here.
Will you be making apps such as these for Androids too? I ask because currently you only have Wolfram Alpha available in the Android Market.
Will you be making apps for Nook Color anytime soon? Right now there are no specialized apps, only the general “Wolfram Alpha” app.
Played with the investment calculator last night. It helped me set the trigger points on selling my stock. Would like it better if I could print out the results or save it to some type of exportable format.
All these iOS reference apps are great, but how about an official app for Windows Phone? You’ve got one for iOS, Android, and even the Nook, but no app for Windows Phone.
Like others, porting all your apps to Android will be great!
Can this be done on a PC with Wolfram Alpha or a download?
