He’s developing some of the most popular frameworks in Wolfram|Alpha. She’s on the front lines of handling and managing all of your feedback. Meet them both in Part 3 of our video series, “A Moment with the Wolfram|Alpha Developers”:

Other interviews with Wolfram|Alpha team members can be found in Part 1 and Part 2 of this video series.

I really liked the description of the Formula Framework in Wolfram|Alpha. Very interesting possibilities for all of us as you add new features to many areas of W|A. I haven’t run into it yet in my own queries, but it would be great if you add that to the Optimal Portfolio’s so that users can vary the percentage allowcations to S&P holdings (I assume you mean this to be one mutual fund or ETF that holds all 500 companies?) and to Bond & Treasury holdings to help us in our portfolio design, when and if you ever allow us to enter more than four stocks again, as in the original release of W|A. Please pass this on to the Money & Finance Team.

Incidently, I tried the Blood Alcohol query shown in the video. Nice to know how may drinks I can have in an hour while dining out at dinner with my wife and still stay within legal driving limits. When will you add Home Country to the Formula Framework for Blood Alcohol? Others around the world would find it a great service if you would add the laws legal limits for their own countries. Surely other countries are more liberal or conservative than the U.S. on that issue. Thanks.

Bet you haven’t had many queries on>> world winkel tripel projection up to now? That was difficult to read in the video. Had to use the You Tube slide to stop the frame. Great information when you expand the result sections. Take a look at the Cultural properties section. You need to fix the word Chinese in the language graphic and add the other three leading languages to the graph, too. Incidentially, I am surprised at the percentage allocations for languages. Somehow most seem rather low? And why is Arabic missing? I think it is spoken by more than 500 million as a first or second language. More than Hindi, I suspect, unless you are including Urdu with it? My interest results from the fact that my son-in-law speaks English, Gujarati, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi. The more I use W|A the more I like it.

I actually got an email the other day that seemed to be in regards to some feedback that I had sent in, but there was no indication which feedback it was in response to. It would be nice if the values that I submitted in the feedback form were referenced in these emails to give users a clear picture of what things were being addressed.

I got a feedback email “[W|A #…] W|A Feedback?” where my original message was repeated in the mail body using the usual “>” and below the reply, so I guess your suggestion is done where possible.

I thought you folks would have figured this out on your own., but that hasn’t happened. The comment from Acne Treatment is exactly verbatim from one that I had submitted. I don’t see that mine ever showed up. I have made several positive comments in the Blog and Community, one of which Dr. Wolfram commented on in one of his videos. I am NOT a spammer. The potential for W|A is vast, and that this deception has happened is disconcerting.

What is going on here? Did Acme Treatment figure out how to hijack comments from truely interested users of W|A for his own advertising purposes? Please have you Site Security Staff investigate.

You really should look at all users that submit Website links before posting them. To do otherwise is of great concern.

You would be doing all users a service in removing Acme Treatment’s comments and investigating what occurred.

Thanks for all your efforts.

Correction: I do see my comment within the first post of this thread. Acme Treatment stole verbatim my words for his own use! Please fix this problem now and for in the future as I have already suggested.

    Thanks.

That removal was quick. Good to know someone acutally reads the posts on your end. Thanks for watching out for more advertising deceptions in the future.
