Take to the Streets with Wolfram|Alpha

The warm summer weather provides a great opportunity to explore a new city on foot! Using OpenStreetMaps in Wolfram|Alpha, you can map out computations and comparisons of some of the world’s most famous streets and explore places of interest.

Rodeo Drive

Doing some shopping on Fifth Avenue? Walking the street for its entire length will take you 200 minutes! An African Burial Ground National Monument and Theodore Roosevelt’s birthplace are also within a mile of this route. If the trip is wearing you down, Bronx-Lebanon Hospital is only 2 miles away.

Fifth Avenue

You can even compute that the travel time of sound down the length of Fifth Avenue is only 31 seconds!

Or try comparing the length of famous streets across the world! Did you know that Broadway is 24 times longer than Abbey Road?

Whether you’re planning your route or using the Wolfram|Alpha App on the go, our famous streets data will help you uncover more interesting facts about your destination.

This feature fails for Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, DC. It shouldn’t.

Based on a quick check of streets I know something about, this function is not ready for prime time.

Somehow this feature does not play nice. I try to look for streets local (in Germany) and it just did not get it. Openstreetmap is a real world wide effort, so it should contain data on almost all streets in Germany as well. Did you use all available data?
